Leila Melendez is CEO of Workforce Solutions Borderplex, the central workforce development agency in the far west Texas region. WSB leads focused investment and strategic alignment to develop talent in the key industry sectors that enhance the regions’ competitiveness.
Ms. Melendez is native El Pasoan and a product of this community. She is a graduate of Bel Air High School, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from UTEP. She completed an Executive Education Course at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Behavioral Insights and is currently enrolled in Behavioral Economics Certificate Program at Texas A&M.
Ms. Melendez is committed to supporting El Paso by serving on boards that promote and uplift its citizens. She is currently Chair of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors El Paso Branch and a member of Paso del Norte Health Foundation.
Ms. Melendez has been recognized as a leader by UTEP as a Gold Nugget Alumni in 2023, El Paso Woman of Impact in 2022, and as a Breakthrough Leader from the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce.
